This free resource can be used for secondary aged students with conditions such as ASD who struggle to identify their emotions. This resource can be used during a social communication skills session, managing emotions session and/or a session on positive coping skills. Using the 5-point scale and letting the student fill in the worksheet will help both yourself as a staff member and your student in understanding what happens when they become distressed.

Downloading this resource will provide you with access to two worksheets suitable for helping students understand ‘sleep hygiene’. If you are an LSA, TA or support staff member in a school then these worksheets could be a valuable aid in the sessions you have with your students. Sleep hygiene is explained in an accessible and friendly way through **two worksheet tasks. ** Worksheet one contains an activity for students to identify what are ‘helpful’ and ‘unhelpful’ for a good nights sleep. Worksheet two contains an example activity, allowing students to apply their learning from worksheet one in a practical way. There are also prompt sheets freely available with this resource that can provide points of conversation for the staff member facilitating these activities as well as a guide on what is and is not a healthy habit before sleeping.

Included with this are… Free zones of regulation posters (PDF) Free emotion cards (Simple - complex) Personalised zones of regulation worksheet Zones of regulation organisation activity with answer sheet included. Mental health first aid kit work sheets. Students can use these to identify positive coping skills for sensory difficulties and emotional issues. Examples of what to put in the ‘first aid kit’ could include wearing ear defenders, eating regularly and having non-verbal communication aids on hand for when anxiety peaks. This exercise can also provide an opportunity to identify ways of coping with anxiety, stress and depression. All resources can be adapted and used with different students.
